Domestic Abuse

Domestic Abuse is very misunderstood and the different levels of abuse not even known by many.

This section is created to support people effected by Domestic abuse.

Firstly anyone involved in Domestic abuse or trying to help someone in what they think is an abusive situation need to be very, very mindful of this first piece of advice.

 

  • Contacting help services or discussing this abuse needs to be very, very carefully actioned. Emails and phone calls and internet searches can be found by the abuser and used against the victim and make the abusive situation worse! 

  • Delete all search history and emails recieved and sent in regards to seeking help. Perhaps get a trusted family member or friend to communicate with the services. 

  • Learn the different Kinds of abuse and take on board these. As you may have no idea the layers of abuse being used to manipulate.  

  • Do not approach the suspected abuser or discuss this with anyone other than the multi-agency services provided to help. Approaching the abuser could effect any courts evidence in future and make the abuse worse for the victim.  

  • Don't feel ashamed we all deserve respect and peace in our lives. Children, women and Men! Abuse isn't just a drunken man scaring his family! Women abuse men also leading to alcohol & drug dependency and suiside!  

  • There is help out their for EVERYONE! No matter what the financial situation, housing situation, everyone is untitled to help.
